PROBLEM: Loss of your important component

Production of the RSM 828 to 884 series synchronous motors known as ‘Berger Lahr’ has been discontinued.

This poses a problem for companies that need these robust and precise synchronous motors for their products – e.g. in access systems and supermarket barriers, in metering pumps, in label dispensers and analysers, or in other areas of equipment and apparatus engineering. In measurement and control technology, for example, Berger Lahr motors are used as reliable actuators for valves and flaps.

SOLUTION: direct replacement with ASM motor types

We are an official partner of Schneider Electric Automation for Berger Lahr synchronous motors and offer direct replacements for motors in the RSM 828 to RSM 884 series.

Here is an overview of ASTRO's direct replacement motors for the RSM 8 motor types.

Since 2017, ASTRO synchronous motors in the ASM 14 to ASM 86 series have been the perfect replacement for Berger Lahr synchronous motors, which are no longer in production – optionally also in combination with various types of gearboxes. With motor protection classes up to IP 65, we are able to replace all synchronous motors in the above-mentioned series – even with operating voltages outside the former Berger Lahr range.

Furthermore, as an official partner of the Berger Lahr brand, we can also replace the T, G and P spur gear types with a perfect fit. Your special advantage: we are also happy to adapt our high-quality equivalent to your customer requirements, e.g. with a shaft diameter of 8 - 16 mm.

Certification with the highest protection classes

Whether ATEX, IECEx, CSA or UL: we offer the most common certifications for Europe, North America and internationally for our motors. All ASTRO synchronous motors from 1~24 V to 3~600 V have UL approval. In addition, we offer you the option of ATEX approval for zones 1 to 22.

Do you need more power or smoother running, for example? Then we have the right solution for you with the LN series. Furthermore, you can have the synchronous motor designed as a BLDC or stepper motor from our modular system – with identical dimensions. A pressure-resistant enclosure with and without ATEX approval is also possible.
